Depth of Love

March 25, 2016

The other day while raking leaves I couldn't help  but thinking about how Jesus felt towards mankind that he would give his life and let himself go through the suffering and agonizing torture that he endured on this day 2000 years ago.

I wanted somehow to understand how one person can have that depth of love for others so  I tried to  create a scenario in my head to maybe have somewhat of a comparison.

I  raked the leaves unto this big tarp and then dragged  them back into the woods and as I was tugging the pile of leaves behind me, I imagined  it was a heavy wooden cross that I dragged  and while doing this I thought about   people that I dearly loved that might  perish if I didn't sacrifice my life on this day. My family , My son and my grandson . Suddenly I understood and I cried.

Now I live for you my dear Lord.

Have a good Friday

Keep the Light On

Just wanted to mention once again that I would have never thought in all my years on this earth that I would be where I am at today,  born again , going to church and meeting with good people. Being filled with the Holy Spirit  is just such an unbelievable feeling . For me it started out accepting Christ after a horrible struggle with alcohol and now everyday it just  keeps snowballing into something even more  wonderful. This has been such an amazing journey so far .

Every morning when I wake,  I think to myself "Holy cow, I get to do this all over again, than you Jesus ".

The Light is on me now after so many years in the dark.

I think I'll keep the light on.

Jesus Our Light for Each Day

March 16, 2016

Poem by Gino

Jesus our Light for each day

When in darkness you need light.
Only the light can clear your way.
Finding your way is through Jesus Christ.
For Jesus is the light of day.
We're born in a world of a sinners gloom.
Casting shadows on our soul.
You turn to see what blocks Gods light .
And find the shadows are your own.
But if you move into its shine.
The shadows go away.
The key is putting all your faith.
In the one that is the way.
Some seek God out with eyes wide shut.
They see but still are blind.
Unless you give your all to him.
The  truth is hard to find.
His light is not that of the sun.
And seldom can  be seen.
But in his Holy words there lies.
The brightest of all schemes.
His plan is tough and the trek is long.
Many find themselves alone.
But keep your focus on the Lord.
For his greatness will be known.
